Monday:

Hockey results- versus Kilkeel

1st XI won 10(ten) -1

Under 14 won 3-0

1st XV lost 11-3. The team created lots of scoring opportunities but couldn’t manage to find the last pass to finish. Defended well and looked the better team for most of the match.

2nd XV lost 22- 15. They battled well, and there were many improvements from recent performances.

Medallion lost to a strong Ballyclare team, 36-10. First up tackling and a lack of being able to get into the game cost the team early points, which they could not get back.

14 A team lost 22 – 0.

14 B team won 36-10.

13 A continued their run of form, winning a tough match 19-12.

13 B were outstanding winning comfortably 46 -0.

Under 12 A had their first 15 a side run out, and lost 3 tries to 2.

12 B won easily 8 tries to nil.

12 C won easily 5 tries to 1.

Friday:

1st Xv had a good win over local rivals Regent House on Wednesday afternoon winning 27 – 17. Ross McCloskey continued his good form with a brace of tries. Captain Phil Broderick was again impressive and scored a wonderful try, in which he made the initial break and then supported the flying Dan Orr, who returned his pass for Phil to score under the posts.

Elliot Boylan and Adam Brennan were impressive yet again, as was Rob Gamble returning from injury, and playing in the unfamiliar role of blindside flanker.

Although there were some lapses of concentration at times, allowing Regent in for two soft tries, BGS always looked the better, and more organised team.

2nd Xv were beaten 25-12 in a better performance. Too many missed tackles led to regent gaining the upper hand. A bit more determination and confidence will help the team realise their potential.
