Sentinus Robotics Day
On the 4th March all Year 8 pupils participated in a Sentinus Robotics Day, led by James Connor from Sentinus. Eight Year 13 ICT & Computing students acted as mentors during the event (following earlier Sentinus training), assisting the younger pupils with coding problems and general troubleshooting. Each Year 13 student gained a Bronze CREST Award for their contribution.
Pupils had the opportunity to engage in the programming and control of robotic vehicles within the context of space exploration. The pupils learnt to write and download their own programmes to guide the robotic vehicles along a set course. The event aimed to promote robotics and programming, and it gave pupils a practical opportunity to develop both their programming and general ICT skills, whilst also enhancing problem-solving and team working skills.
