National Navigation Award Assessment

“If it’s not raining then we’re not training” as the old Army saying goes and that was true when 34 of our APCA (Year 12) group set off for their assessment at Crawfordsburn Country Park, not only was it wet but it was bitterly cold. The four groups set off with their assessors from 38 Cadet Training Team on different routes each cadet to complete a leg of that route. After two hours of bitter wind and cold the cadets ended at the centre for some warmth and lunch. After a short discussion and a check on how they all did the assessors told me that all the cadets passed and would be awarded the certificates and pins on parade at a later date. Well done APCA not so much for passing but for what the assessors told me in the briefing after, they said that your “manners, humour and behaviour was excellent and a credit to their schools and staff”.
