Bombardier’s The Flight Experience

Bombardier’s The Flight Experience programme is an educational outreach for schools across Northern Ireland.

The Flight Experience comprises a wide variety of practical initiatives and interactive activities as well as an annual competition challenging schoolchildren to design and build a self-propelled model aircraft. The competition final is held at W5 Interactive Discovery Centre in the Odyssey Complex, Belfast, where a Science of Flight exhibit is housed.

Bangor Grammar School won the Flight Experience competition in 2010; a prize of £1000 was received for the school and a trip to the Farnborough Air show for the pupils involved.

In 2013 Matthew Armstrong Sanchez and Luke Alexander finished second in the Key Stage 3 competition, being narrowly defeated by Abbey Grammar School.
